Sometimes its better to leave certain questions unanswered.
That must have been the director's philosophy in Jason X when it came time to shoot a key sequence for the chapter entitled A Calculated Flight Risk. The question? "How do I get from point A (the guard who threw a blanket over Jason's head) to point C (his death) without showing that?" What question are we referring to?
Friday the 13th
Her head was never found.
Part III
Yes, it was.
The Final Chapter
She smashed a television set over Jason's head, and then split his hand open with a machete. The last blow knocked his mask off.
Jason Lives
Some type of animal blood dripping from the machete would have helped. It was too clean. Having the actor walk through a denser area of forest would have concealed the clothes he was wearing, and the last time we checked, Jason didn't wear a watch!
The New Blood
Tina's (Lar Park Lincoln) telekinetic powers accidentally set Jason free when she tried to wish her father back to life.
Jason Goes To Hell
He was able to possess the body of each of his victims, and to move from one body to another until his own body was restored.
Jason X
How Jason escaped from his shackles.
Freddy vs. Jason
The cards had a decorative, green border and an illustration of a scarecrow in front of a night sky.
Sgt. Tierney (Ronn Carroll) had his doubts about who the real killer was in Friday the 13th, even after Mrs. Voorhees' (Betsy Palmer) death. Do you remember why?
It was in Part III that Jason obtained his trademark hockey mask. Was his face kept in the shadows prior to Shelly's (Larry Zerner) demise?
22" bolo machete: $9. Deluxe camp axe with contoured wood handle: $13. 60" pinch point crowbar: $34. Finding new ways to slice and dice moronic teens: priceless! Trish (Kimberly Beck) did some slicing and dicing of her own in The Final Chapter. Take us through that sequence from the director's point of view, and don't leave out any of the gory details.
Anyone whose ever seen a Friday the 13th movie should have known that Stan (Matthew Faison) wasn't Jason in Jason Lives when the camera focused on the machete he was carrying. Put yourself back in the director's chair for this one
and tell us what could have been done differently
to make the scene more convincing.
Suppose you saw only what Tommy (Thom Matthews) saw at the end of Part VI. Would that have been enough to put your mind at ease if you were in his shoes? Probably not, right? Anchoring Jason to the bottom of Crystal Lake worked, but only for a short while. How did he escape from his watery grave in The New Blood?
You know that whole belief about the meek inheriting the earth one day? Well, we don't
doubt that it'll happen, but it'll probably be the rodents turn to prosper after the next big meteor impact. What power did Jason inherit after his
body was destroyed by a special FBI task force
in Jason Goes to Hell?
Here's a situation you probably wouldn't want to find yourself in. You've been taken into police custody because you were seen running from the rave party that Jason crashed in Freddy vs. Jason. You also have some explaining to do because you're covered in someone else's blood. They want to know who was at the party and how you found out about it. When you tell the police about the invitations that Freeburg (Kyle Labine) handed out, they ask you to describe what they looked like. If you can do that, maybe they'll let you go.
